Jay’s Downtown is more than a dispensary—it’s a place that feels like home. We’re creating a comfortable, no-pressure space where anyone 21+ can ask questions, take their time, and find what works for them. Think J&L Café or the Friday night bleachers: familiar, friendly, and rooted in small-town values. We’re proud to be doing this with Sterling, not just in it.

We named this shop after Jay Lloyd—a friend who lived big, laughed louder, and always showed up for the people around him. He wasn’t from Sterling, but he came from a town just like it. Jay made sure no one felt left out, and that’s the kind of spirit we’re carrying forward. Though we lost him in 2012, we remember how he lived: with heart, humor, and generosity. Jay’s Downtown exists to honor that legacy—with reliable products, thoughtful service, and a mission to support recovery and education in his name.

Cannabis stores in Sterling, CO are finally open and at the top of the list is Jay’s Downtown. They have the best selection of “flower” and take great care to keep their entire stock in pristine condition. Owner Colin pointed out to me several things to look for when buying a bud, going beyond just the THC level. His knowledge of cannabis is encyclopedic and it shows in the store he’s created and the staff that assists him. My only MJ source in Sterling!

Visited Jay’s this afternoon and was very impressed by it all, even with it still being “soft-open”. They’re finishing the lobby up but the whole vibe of the place is really nice and feels high-end. Good weed brands and a nice little selection of concentrates. Happy to have an actual, quality dispensary in town & this place is super accessible in downtown Sterling!
